IDEAL Electrical TightSight 400A 600V Clamp Meter

The IDEAL 61-747 TightSight clamp meter is a CAT III 600 V rated auto ranging true root mean square (TRMS) digital clamp meter. It is capable of measuring up to 400 Amps AC and DC current via the clamp head, as well as up to 600V AC and DC, frequency, resistance, continuity, capacitance, and diodes using the included test-leads. Additionally, it can measure temperature (in both Fahrenheit and Celsius) via a K-Type thermocouple provided.

The meter features a non-contact sensor in the right tip of the clamp that can detect voltage between 40V to 600V. The patented TightSight LCD display is conveniently located on the bottom of the unit, allowing for a secondary reading at the end of the meter. This unique feature eliminates the need to bend or twist conductors or put your head near the panel in order to see the main meter display.

For enhanced safety and productivity, both displays can be backlit, and there is a built-in flashlight that can be illuminated when working in poor lighting conditions. The meter also uses an illuminated red LED in the center and emits audible tones to notify you when voltage exceeds 30 volts, when continuity is detected, and when the NCV senses voltage within its designated range.

The clamp head has a built-in probe tip holder on the backside of the right clamp, making it easier to take measurements with one hand holding the clamp and the other hand holding the second lead. It also has a hanging strap mount that is compatible with all other IDEAL meters with this feature. This allows for a hanging strap (sold separately) to be attached to the meter for hanging from a nail, screw, or magnetic surface.

Featuring an industrial-grade over molding for grip and drop protection, this meter offers hold, min/max, relative, zero, range, and selectable auto power off functions. It comes with 3 1.5V AAA batteries and an easily accessible storage pouch with a belt loop for convenient storage of the meter, probe, and thermocouple. The patented TightSight display eliminates the need for awkward positioning when taking measurements, providing a safer and more efficient work experience. The True RMS AC voltage and current measurements ensure accuracy even on non-linear signals, while the various functions and features such as built-in probe tip holder and hanging strap clip make it a versatile and user-friendly tool for electricians and technicians alike. With the added benefit of a built-in flashlight and dual backlit displays, working in poorly lit environments is no longer a challenge.
